1997: The Dodge Durango Launches

1997 was the first year that customers saw the Dodge Durango in action. As SUVs were gaining more traction on the market, this model impressed by fitting up to eight passengers comfortably while also increasing power output. The first-generation Dodge Durango could generate up to 360 horsepower and 412 lb-ft of torque with the available Supercharged Magnum V8 engine.

2003: Modern Innovations

With the second generation of the Dodge Durango came numerous improvements that shaped it into a more modern SUV. It was given a facelift that improved airflow and provided a less angular design. This generation also introduced a coil-spring rear suspension, making for a smoother ride by better absorbing G-forces. During this time, the HEMI® engine first appeared in the Dodge Durango, increasing power output to a maximum of 376 horsepower and 499 lb-ft of torque.

2010: The Current Generation

While the vehicle was officially discontinued after the 2009 model year, it was revived with the redesigned 2011 Dodge Durango. The sporty exterior trim you recognize today debuted with the third-generation model, creating an unmistakable look. Thanks to the available 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine, this model can now drive with up to 475 horsepower and 637 lb-ft of torque.
